I still remember the day Mickael wrote me inquiring about my services for their Russian wedding day in Florence, Tuscany. I was immediately happy about the opportunity of photographing this beautiful couple at three different locations. A private terrace in town, at one of the most luxurious hotels in town, and around Florence of course. But also, the idea that the religious celebration would take place at the Russian Orthodox Church in Florence was extremely appealing. I have always been in love with the beauty of its ornaments and with the rituals of orthodox tradition.
The ceremony was beautiful with the guests who all stood in a big semi-circle around bride and groom. Right after the ceremony, a private chauffeur took us around to some exclusive locations in town I chose for them. I thought would make the perfect setting for the images I had in mind. For Mickael and Anastasia I wanted something typically Florentine yet classy and elegant as they are.
The reception with family and friends took place at a beautiful private terrace in the heart of Florence, overlooking the Arno river and the surrounding hills nearby. It was right at sunset and the light was just perfect with warm and golden tones. The atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable for everybody, me included.
The preparation of the bride and bridesmaids took place at a beautiful 5-star hotel on the Northern hills of Florence. ot too far from the tiny village of Fiesole, and between one sip of Champagne and one big laugh I had the pleasure to capture these endless moments that will last forever.
