I had the pleasure to photograph this lovely couple at their rustic chic danish wedding in a beautiful villa in the Chianti region. Bride and groom chose this marvellous place as it was Morten’s summer vacation destination since he was a child. So it means a lot to him and his family. It was a perfect location for a wedding photoshoot and as a destination wedding photographer, I love it whenever I can take photographs in a place like this in the Tuscan countryside.
The villa has a beautiful and big pool and so friends and family joined in for a pool party in the morning. Tasty home made ice creams was available to anyone at a cute vintage Wolkswagen van. A nice way to welcome their guests and face the Tuscan summer all together while waiting for the big moment, which was scheduled for the afternoon.
The ceremony took place in the garden, in a terrace elegantly set up overlooking the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Imagine olive groves and vineyards all around the place. In fact, the theme Stine had chose for her wedding revolved around the concept of “green”. Her bouquet had actually plenty of olive leaves. Very chic and simple at the same time.
The olive groves around the villa also served as a perfect location to set the photoshoot. This what we envisioned during the prep calls we had prior to the wedding.
Dinner was served under an elegant marquees as the the sun was setting and typical customs from the danish tradition went on for the whole night, including cutting the tip of the socks of the groom to make sure he will not walk too far from his “newly wed” home.
