I had the pleasure to photograph this lovely couple at their intimate beach wedding on the shore of Viareggio. One of the most famous seaside locations along the Tuscan coast.
Petra & Werner chose the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, one of the top ones in Italy. Not only for its glorious past but also for its beautiful architecture of early 900’s. In fact it has been the location for many movie productions in the years.
Also it was the very first time that a civil wedding was celebrated by a representative of the town hall of Viareggio on the beach. This wedding did make it to the news as a first-of-a-kind. It was a great privilege for me as a destination wedding photographer. This was also possible thanks to the support of Tuscany for Weddings, a division of Firenze Convention Bureau. Its mission is to promote Tuscany as a destination for weddings. They help local players to present their services to international wedding planners and bride and groom to be.
The ceremony took place on the beach under a lovely gazebo built to purpose for the occasion. The decor was very elegant and had strings of pearls coming down the roof and swinging gently to the sea breeze. Everybody, including the groom, was dressing in white and this helped create an overall elegant and cozy atmosphere.
Right after the ceremony, around sunset, the empty beach of Viareggio was the ideal setting for a private photoshoot. The lovely warm lighting gave that little extra touch of warmth for timeless and unique pictures.
The guests enjoyed a special dinner at the 2-star Michelin restaurant il Piccolo Principe. The rooftop terrace of the hotel by the pool has a magnificent view over the sea.
